Yesterday, I got to spend a beautiful sunny morning as part of Halyma’s ‘Belly Dancing For Fun’ and the ‘Bollywood For Fun’ crew, in support of a spectacular bunch of athletic women and children, who were taking part in “Emilie’s Run” at the Aviation Museum. Emilie Mondor was an Olympic hopeful, tragically killed in a car accident. This annual event brings together families to cheer on elite level runners in a short distance race, and then a mini-race for the kids. We love to give our time, energy, and shimmies to support local events and causes…it’s one of the best things about belonging to the thriving dance community here in Ottawa.
