The bellydance fundraiser on Saturday was a huge success! Congratulations to Zenna for all her hard work hosting such a fun event, and feeding everyone so lavishly. Proceeds raised will go towards her sponsorship to participate in the the Breast Cancer Action 10K Walk, as part of the Weekend To End Women’s Cancers, in June. A big hug and thanks to those students who took the time to come out and join me on on stage to perform in support of the cause. We all got to enjoy many lovely performances by my dancing diva friends, including Halyma and her bevy of Bollywood/Bellywood babes, Farasha, Zeevah, Vera, Tribal beauties, and of course, Zenna’s wicked industrial/heavy metal finale..More photos will be posted as soon as I get them! June 10th…yay, got more photos..

Hey everyone! Don’t forget to buy your tickets to the Bellydance Fundraiser For Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday, May 14th. Some of my students will be performing, and I’ve been asked to dance a solo…so nervous!…along with professional performance artists, in a great show hosted by Zenna. Come and be entertained by a fabulous mix of dance styles, including Bollywood, Tribal, Bellywood, and classic Bellydance; sample Zenna’s Greek feast, and perhaps win a prize. A lot of people have been asking for directions to the event, so I’ve looked it up on Google Maps: Take Island Park Drive and go over the Champlain Bridge to Gatineau. Turn left onto Chemin d’Aylmer. Turn right onto Chemin Allen. Turn left onto Chemin Mcconnell. Turn right onto Chemin Vanier. Turn left onto Chemin Antoine Boucher, and your destination will be on the right, at 1214 Chemin Antoine Boucher, at a private club. Contact me for further info and tickets..they’re going fast!
On Sunday morning, some of us in the dance community performed in support of the Hike For Hospice, at the May Court Palliative Care Facility fundraiser. Lovely weather, and a great group of drummers and dancers made it a special event…’tis the season for outdoor fun! Look for us next at the Ottawa Marathon, on May 29th..shimmying and cheering for the runners along the Rideau Canal..can’t wait!
Already into week #2 of spring session classes, and even though the nice weather has been temporarily delayed, my students are progressing nicely! Three great groups of ladies are keeping me busy, and I love my job!
Yay! Spring session starts this week – can’t wait to welcome new and returning students. It’s not too late to sign up…check my “Classes” page for details, and look forward to dancing with you soon!
A big thanks goes out to my former and current ‘Breast Cancer Action’ and Canterbury dance students for performing Saturday night at the Treasured Chests Walking team fundraiser in support of “walk for the cure”. A great evening of different dance styles, food, fun, and lots of positive energy that had the crowd up on their feet for the finale, where they got to try Bollywood and bellydance moves with the performers.
Big thanks also to Chantal and her team, Halyma, and all the wonderful dancers who helped make it such a special evening for a good cause.

Wow! Our class party last Friday was so much fun. All three student groups performed beautifully for family and friends; the guest dancers were awesome, and everyone enjoyed lots of delicious treats at the potluck table. Thanks to my hubby for being our Emcee and DJ, and thanks to all for making it such a wonderful evening!

Another great week of teaching, despite catching a nasty cold yesterday. My level 1’s at Canterbury are rocking their cane dance, and the level 2’s are swirling and travelling with their veils. Enrollment of BCA students is slowly increasing, and I’m very pleased with everyones’ progress!
